Celtic Wheel Retreat: Samhain Sovereign Woman

In the Celtic Wheel Samhain is the first festival celebrated in the Celtic Wheel. It is the Celtic New Year and marks the gateway into the darkness. In Celtic Wisdom everything starts in the darkness.
Between Samhain and the Winter Solstice we are invited to transition into the deep feminine part of the cycle. This is an beautiful time to gather as women and to explore the aspects of our feminine nature which have been undervalued in our culture. It’s a time of pausing, resting and hibernating. A time to retreat from the world.
Everything around us in nature is dying. It’s the time of death when the Caileach, the Goddess in the form of the hag shakes us up and asks.
How are we living?
What’s not working?
What needs to be let go of ?
What needs to die in our lives?
We are invited to move inward, let go of anything that is no longer serving us. As we let go we drop into the fecund darkness of the void, the cauldron, from where something new will be born.
