Connect to Nature Yoga & Hiking Weekend
July 3 - 5, 2020
For those who like both challenges and chilling out – welcome to the retreat you’ve been waiting for! We’ve crafted a weekend set to thrill your adventurous side, with stunning views as you hike along the Cliffs of Moher, and to soothe your contemplative side, with deeply nourishing slow vinyasa and yin yoga, and mindfulness meditations.
Over the weekend the Cliff walk from Doolin to Liscannor will be covered (weather permitting). You’ll have plenty of time to relax too; soak up the stunning views of the Atlantic from our wood-burning hot tub; indulge in a relaxing massage before curling up in bed; or enjoy the thrill of a swim in the ocean.
In keeping with the theme of this retreat, the yoga and meditation sessions will be an invitation to tune in with the breath and sensations, with a view to building a sense of a living connection with ourselves and the world around us. Like walking, practicing yoga is a form of intimacy with oneself; they both bring us close to the unwilled rhythms of the body and connect us to our essential wildness and inner vitality.
The classes during this very special retreat are designed to help cultivate a quality of balance between energy or alertness and deep relaxation and calmness. The focus during the morning classes will be on exploring our bodies’ relationship to the ground and space around as well as accessing the beauty of ‘flow’ states, those moments when we feel in sync with our surroundings, intentions, and desires and thus more integrated and aware of ourselves.
In the evenings we will practice poses that help draw the attention inwards and have a grounding, calming effect. The emphasis will be on slowing down, on softening our efforts, and on practicing from a place of complete acceptance, receptiveness, and self-care. Each class will begin with a simple meditation focusing on the breath or bodily sensations (no meditation experience is required!) to encourage both a sense of calm focus and an attitude of adaptability and openness to the life inside us and around us.
This is your chance to embrace the outdoors and to blow away the cobwebs while stretching your body, calming your mind and soothing your soul. Leave the retreat having made new friends, explored a breathtaking corner of Ireland and reconnected to yourself on all levels.
