Imbolc (“in the belly”), is the start of Spring in the Celtic calendar.  It is a time of awakening, a time of emergence and new possibility.  It’s a time to actively listen to what is wanting to emerge from the deepest soul self and get clear on our intentions.

In the Celtic world in the northern hemisphere the natural world is just waking up after a long sleep in the darkness of winter. We have made it through the bleakness of winter when the dark Goddess, the Cailleach invited us to let go, to rest, slow down and dream. The Cailleach (the hag) now transforms at Imbolc into Brigid the maiden full of possibility. We will celebrate Brigid’s day together. The area around Liscannor has a deep tradition of honouring Brigid.  We may even join in some local celebrations!

The light of the sun is strengthening as days begin to get longer and the dormant seeds deep in the earth are stirring with life-force. New life and new beginnings are wanting to emerge.
Desires and aspirations deep in the depts of our souls are like the seeds stirring with life, coming alive deep in the darkness of the earth. What desires, longings, aspirations or visions are emerging in whispers within you?  What seeds  of desire are awakening withing you?  Of all the possible seeds that are stirring in you, which ones will you tend if you are to live fully alive?

Come to rest
Come if you know there’s more than this
Come if you want to get clarity
Come if you don’t know who you are anymore
Come if you’re stepping up
Come if you’re in between
Come to question
Come if you’re starting over
Come to celebrate ancient indigenous traditions
Come if you want to start living a full and authentic life

We will invoke the fiery arrows of Goddess and saint Brigit as we as the life-force of Spring to get clear on what we want to bring in to our lives.
